Day 3 with the strategists. I told ‘em look, History must have some examples of ways leaders who were scornfully misunderstood by three-quarters of their people became more fondly thought of and viewed in a forgiving light. They sort of hemmed and hawed, and I said spit it out, and they said ‘assassination.’

Well that’s out of the question, I told them, let’s keep some perspective here. I ended the meeting and excused myself for an important ride on my bicycle.

Still, just for argument’s sake, I’m curious who they would’ve had me assassinate.

I mean, if it’s only one guy…
